Excited

Why when things don't often go our way that we raise the roof. We get so excited that the only thing that is on our minds is the one thing that is causing us to get excited. We get frustrated with everything else going on around us so that we can focus all of our attention to that excitable thing. I always thought that I was able to do many things at one time, kind of like talk and chew gum at the same time type person. May be it is that I am getting up there in years and have forgotten all the things taught me at a younger age which was you have to stop and smell the flowers. Or you need to see the forest through the trees.
As things have turned out over the past few days I am beginning to once again realize that it is necessary to stop and look around before getting so excited. Gods word says" dont be anxiuos in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". Someone already knows what the problems are and is already dealing with them. I have instructed my wife to tell me the next time I get excited, is to stop what I am doing and know that it will all get worked out if I go to the right source instead of getting so excited. Besides to much excitement can lead to a lot of sleepless nights.
